Return Policy






Below you will find our return policy for various items. If you have a question on whether or not the item you plan to purchase qualified for return, it is your responsibility to Email us with the item information & we will advise if your purchase is eligible to be returnd.




Bridal Gown Return and Exchange Policy

Elegant Gowns is one of the very few on-line bridal salons to accept returns for Bridal Gowns. Please follow the instructions very carefully as any return which does not follow our procedures in a timely manner, will not qualify for a return. There will be a 10% restocking charge, minimum $30.00, for all returns. The credit will be be refunded to the credit card used for payment (or PayPal if used for payment), and processed within 5 business days of our receipt of the gown. Gowns that are "Featured Gowns" are offered at special, temporary price cuts - restocking fee for these gowns will be calculated based on the regular price, not the special featured price. Clearance gowns cannot be returned or exchanged.

  • ~You must contact Elegant Gowns within 3 calendar days of the delivery of your Bridal Gown if you wish to return your bridal gown to receive your Return Authorization number. You MUST have a return authorization number to return the gown. Please write the authorization number on the outside of the box.


  • ~You will be responsible for the cost of return shipping. We strongly suggest shipping the gown insured with a tracking number as we will not be responsible for gowns lost in transit.


  • ~Elegant Gowns MUST receive the gown within 6 business days of issuing the Return Authorization Number.


  • ~All gowns need to have their original tags with their original bag and must be in brand new, unworn condition. We do not accept for return any gown that is altered in any way or is with stains, dirt, make-up, cigarette odor, perfume, pet hair, etc. All discount wedding dresses must pass through our inspection to qualify for return. Elegant Gowns reserves the right to either refuse any gown that does not meet our requirements, or deduct $120.00 from the refund to cover professional cleaning of the gown, whichever Elegant Gowns deems appropriate.


  • ~All free gifts included with the gown MUST be returned for the gown to be eligible for return (garter and gown bag). If items are missing, the following amounts will be subtracted from the balance owed to you: Garter: $10.00, Garment Bag: $25.00.
    IF EXCHANGING YOUR GOWN FOR ANOTHER SIZE, STYLE, OR COLOR PLEASE KEEP YOUR GIFTS!


  • ~Any gown that does not meet the above criteria will be shipped back to the customer at their expense.


  • ~ALL SHIPPING COSTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE FOR CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE PAID FOR ADDITIONAL SHIPPING.


  • RUSH CHARGES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. i.e. International or expedited shipping, or Rush order charges for Divine or Roberta Collection gowns.


*The 10% restocking charge will be based on Elegant Gowns’ Regular Price for the gown. If you purchase the gown with one of our special coupons, the restocking charge will be calculated based on our Regular Price, not the coupon price. Minimum restocking charge is $30.00

*Please note that any return which does not follow our procedures above in a timely manner, will not qualify for a return.

*Gowns purchased with any changes to the design or measurements are final sales and are NOT eligible under Elegant Gowns' return policy.

*Clearance gowns are NOT be available for return.

* Any discounts given on other orders (i.e. bridesmaid, veil, etc.) are null & void if the gown is returned and will be subtracted from the refund.


Bridesmaid, Junior Bridesmaid, & Prom Return and Exchange Policy
  • Bridesmaid and Junior Bridesmaid dresses are final sales and cannot be returned or exchanged. The only exception to this policy is in case of manufacturer defect. Not ordering the correct size does not qualify as a manufacturer defect.


  • Prom gowns are final sales unless the item is also classified as a bridal gown AND is ordered in White or Ivory.

Flower Girl/Ring Bearer Tux Return and Exchange Policy
  • You must contact Elegant Gowns within 3 calendar days of the delivery of your flower girl dress or ring bearer tuxedo if you wish to return it to receive your Return Authorization number. You MUST have a return authorization number to return the item. Please write the authorization number on the outside of the box. Only flower girl dresses ordered in White or Ivory are eligible for return or exchange.


  • There is a restocking charge of 10%, minimum $10.00 on all qualified returns and exchanges for flower girl dresses or ring bearer tuxedos.


  • You will be responsible for the cost of return shipping the flower girl dress or ring bearer tuxedo to Elegant Gowns. We strongly suggest shipping the item insured with a tracking number as we will not be responsible for gowns lost in transit.


  • Elegant Gowns MUST receive the flower girl dress or ring bearer tuxedo within 6 business days of issuing the Return Authorization Number.


  • All flower girl dresses or ring bearer tuxedos need to have their original tags with their original bag and must be in brand new, unworn condition.   • Any flower girl dress or ring bearer tuxedo that does not meet the above criteria will be shipped back to the customer at their expense.

  • RUSH CHARGES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.


  • You must notify Elegant Gowns of your wish to return your item within 3 days of the item being delivered. You must receive a return authorization and await further instructions prior to shipping your order back to us.

Veil, Headpiece, Jewelry, Crinoline, And Wedding Accessories Return and Exchange Policy
  • Returns and exchanges are accepted for Veils, Headpieces, Jewelry, Crinolines (Slips), and other Wedding Accessories less a 15% restocking charge (minimum $10.00), and less shipping costs. Any special ordered veil (not shown on the website) cannot be returned or exchanged. Veils ordered in Gold, Café, Sparkle Café, Beige, Pink, Blush Pink, Silver, Oyster, Glimmer, Victorian Lilac, Light Blue, Royal Blue, Navy Blue, Wine, Chocolate, Black, or Red are not eligible for our return/exchange policy. In addition, when ordering from our Custom Veils, if you choose options that state "No Returns" then the veil cannot be returned. Shipping charges are non-refundable.

  • Any items purchased from the Sale or Clearance areas are final sales and not eligible for the return/exchange policy.

  • You must notify Elegant Gowns of your wish to return your item within 3 days of the item being delivered. You must receive a return authorization and await further instructions prior to shipping your order back to us.



FOR ALL ORDERS
No return will be authorized for any order after the wedding date. The wedding date is determined by the date the customer enters into their customer profile, which is then inserted into the order comments. There are no exceptions to this policy.
